IKO Foundation Mission Statement
The IKO Foundation, a 501(c)(3) private foundation, was established in 2008 to support causes in accordance with our mission:
- Underwrite scholarships for good students of modest means.
- Assist United States military personnel and their families.
- Support like minded charitable efforts in the central Maryland area.
The IKO Foundation pursues its mission primarily through grants to other non profit organizations. Occasional direct funded opportunities will be announced on this web site and in the Annapolis Capital newspaper along with guidelines for application.
A Philosophy of Efficiency
The philosophy of the IKO Foundation is to provide support in accordance with our mission statement in the most efficient and effective ways possible.
All recipients of funds from the Foundation are thoroughly vetted to ensure that they meet our standards for the efficient use of funds. This vetting is accomplished using personal contacts and through the use of on line charity ratings services such as Guidestar and Charity Navigator.
Commitment of the Board
The Board of Directors of the IKO Foundation is committed to pursuing the goals of our mission statement while adhering to our philosophy of the efficient use of funds. To that end, all administrative expenses for the Foundation are funded by the Board allowing 100% of all contributions to directly benefit the programs.
